I have the privilege of being a medical advisor and board member of the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre. I have a teaching appointment with the University of Toronto, and I have the true pleasure of being a faculty member of Dr. Steve Edelman’s Taking Control of Your Diabetes organization (www.tcoyd.org) and speaking at many of the TCOYD conferences.
I have been fortunate enough to have been awarded the Diabetes Canada Gerald S. Wong Award given “in recognition of outstanding service and contribution to people with diabetes” and to have been honoured with a Diabetes Canada Special Dedication Award. I have also been fortunate enough to have been invited to Chennai, India to receive the Professor V. Mohan award, given to “scientists and clinicans who have contributed significantly to the advancement of diabetes management.”
I have written (or co-written) books on diabetes, cooking with diabetes, celiac disease, doctor-patient relationships, prescription drugs.
